One of my summer goals was to visit a gallery per week. I started off strong this week visiting the Sharon Lynne Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield. The center is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing public access to both visual and performing art; the Wilson center campus includes a full-sized theater, small art gallery, studios for workshops, and an outdoor sculpture garden.

Practice Makes Perfect
After this summer I will only have one semester left of my undergrad career and I will officially be a "real" adult. Although I am excited to graduate, I will always love school and continuing my education. I have a strong bond with learning and was fortunate enough to realize early on that learning new talents and information is the only way to get further in one's career. This summer I've made myself a few goals so once my final semester comes around I am as prepared as I possibly can be!

Sculpture Final: What To Do
For the final exam in my sculpture class we were told to create something out of what is considered "new media". Examples of new media include light, sound, and movement. After analyzing all of the works I have looked at in all of my classes, I decided I wanted to make something that is one-part structure and one-part sociology. This is when I came up with my piece, What To Do.

Leg Chandelier: A Plaster Experimentation
For my sculpture class we had two final projects that were due at the end of the semester. The larger of the two was an emulation experiment that required the use of multiples and medium of plaster. I chose to emulate feminist artist Judy Chicago, who is famous for her larger-than-life body focused installations.

Pinterest in Use
Often times I find myself overwhelmed when I have to begin a design; this isn't because designing stresses me out or I am dreading doing it. I find myself overwhelmed with the possibilities of where I want to take my design. I've found the easiest way to get those creative juices flowing (smoothly!) is by using Pinterest.
